Chris Thurlwell opened his jewellery design business in Tunbridge Wells in 1989 after a long and successful career as a West End Jeweller.

The first jeweller in his family (his father being a Horologist) Chris initially turned his hand to the design and manufacture of precision instruments. Then, after studying at Central School of Arts and Crafts in London he studied diamond mounting, metallurgy and gemology.

Based in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, Thurlwell's can be found at 63 the High Street. The only registered Goldsmiths in Tunbridge Wells that designs and creates pieces from scratch on the premises.

A common misconception with bespoke craftsmanship such as Thurlwell’s is that the cost is high. This is not the case, just as your piece will be tailored to your desires, so will the cost. "There is always something special about matching a gemstone to an owner" is Thurlwell's belief.
